My name is Dulce Maria Mendoza. I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. My family and I emigrated to Immokalee, Florida when I about four years old. I graduated from Immokalee High School in 2014 and moved to Pennsylvania to attend Arcadia University.
I want you to know my defining characteristics.
I am Mexican.
I am a native Spanish speaker.
I am a first-generation student.
On May 2018, I will graduate with a B.A in healthcare administration from Arcadia University.
The purpose of this blog series is to inform you, a first-generation student that there are resources available for you to seek higher education, to pursue internships, and to study abroad. Lastly, like many of you I do not know what I will be doing after graduation, but I want to provide you with the options I am currently considering.
I hope you benefit from my experiences and tips on your journey to higher education.
