For as long as I can remember I always thought about what makes us who we are and why we are a certain way. I wanted to know why my personality was different than people around me and why I thought the way I thought and why people react differently to things.
Maybe I was just a weird kid.
But the older I got the more curious I got. I would constantly question why I preferred to stay in and watch movies on the weekends and why some of my friends were always looking for a party to attend. About a year ago upon a random Google search I stumbled upon an answer for all of this. There is a personality quiz called Myers-Briggs 16 personalities. Ever since initially find this personality system I have researched it extensively.
My intention for this blog is to inform you about the history of Myers-Briggs personality typing, what the different types mean, what they consist of , and how our personal types effect us throughout life.
Maybe you have always been interested in this topic as well but never knew that there were real answers to your search. Now you know and you’re one step closer to understanding yourself and the people around you better!
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is not an answer for everything and there are varying aspects that make us who we are, this is just one possibility that could provide some insight. While it is backed by psychology and uses Carl Jung’s theory of functions, there are still many holes in the system. MBTI is a strong interest of mine that I enjoy researching and studying but I am not a psychologist or specialist of any kind. I am just passionate about finding something I can so closely identify with and hope to spread that knowledge and excitement with others.
